As reported previously, Stifel analyst Jim Duffy upgraded Black Diamond to Buy from Hold and set a $5.50 price target on the stock. Duffy believes the company's shift in strategy to a holding company structure with a focus on profitability and cash flow over growth will create turnover in its shareholder base, which will present an opportunity for small cap value investors. The analyst also thinks gross margins can be boosted in 2016 as forex pressure eases, manufacturing is consolidated and product offerings are reduced.
