After several news outlets speculated about potential acquirers of Imperial Tobacco (ITYBY), Wells Fargo says that British American Tobacco (BTI) is the most likely acquirer. The firm says that Imperial will probably be acquired, and that British American would likely spin off the company's U.S. assets and divest other brands after making the deal. The firm says a takeover of Imperial would boost global tobacco companies. It keeps Outperform ratings on Philip Morris (PM) and Reynolds American (RAI).
