Baird analyst David Leiker said many of the suppliers of electric vehicles are also suppliers of internal combustion engines. Since he expects global demand for electric cars to stall at around 3% until the cost can improve, he feels the high cost will benefit the OEM auto suppliers, including BorgWarner (BWA) and Delphi (DLPH). Leiker recommends buying both aggressively as the economics do not yet support wide-spread adoption of electric vehicles. Leiker has Outperform ratings on both BorgWarner and Delphi shares.
