Wells Fargo noted that Caterpillar's (CAT) sales trend report for April-end three month period showed declines in both Energy & Transportation and Machines and appears negative for the company's earnings power. The Energy & Transportation slide appears negative for Cummins (CMI), the firm added. Wells Fargo has a Market Perform rating on shares of Caterpillar.
