BofA analyst Shaun Kelley downgraded Choice Hotels to Underperform from Neutral with a $95 price target. The analyst cites valuation and the stock's risk/reward for the downgrade following the "impressive" 46% total return in 2019. While momentum and cyclical optimism have driven the shares higher, RevPAR trends in the hotel space remain challenging, particularly for lower end chain scales, Kelley tells investors in a research note. The analyst is now cautiously positioned across the sector.
