Stifel analyst Jim Duffy upgraded Columbia Sportswear to Buy and raised his price target for the shares to $103 from $93. The analyst sees brand momentum for Columbia into the holiday season and 2019 following the company's Q3 results. Further, he expects margin benefits from the company's Project CONNECT to be realized in 2019 and that its balance sheet capacity will create further shareholder value.
UBS raised the firm's price target on Columbia Sportswear to $60 from $59 and keeps a Sell rating on the shares. The firm maintains a bearish view on Columbia despite a 37c beat on Q1 EPS and thinks topline challenges will persist, leading to margin pressures and weakening EPS growth, the analyst tells investors in a research note.
