SunTrust analyst Michael Lewis raised his price target on Camden Property to $108 and kept his Buy rating after its Q1 results and meetings with its management. The analyst notes that although apartment REITs are "not cheap", fundamentals for the sector are "good", calling Camden Property his favorite pick given its exposure to the "high-growth Sunbelt geography, healthy development pipeline, and the lowest-levered balance sheet" in his coverage universe. Lewis also nudges his FY19 AFFO view on the REIT to $4.38 from $4.35 and contends that the company is "well positioned" for either opportunistic or defensive strategies based on future conditions.
