Pacific Crest analyst Alex Kurtz says that HP Enterprise's (HPE) acquisition of Silicon Graphics International (SGI) "is good for the market and signals high-performance computing's growing impact on government and commercial markets. " The analyst says that HP Enterprise and Silicon Graphics do not, for the most part, compete directly with Cray, and he thinks that HP Enteprrise could be less aggressive on price than Silicon Graphics has been. The analyst keeps an Overweight rating on Cray.
