JPMorgan analyst Mark Murphy calls the U.S. Federal Government's $503M Blanket Purchase Order for Salesforce services meaningful. The five-year agreement is directed to six Salesforce partner firms and shouldn't be misconstrued as a near-term lump sum software purchase order for the company, Murphy tells investors in a research note. Nonetheless, the analyst views the order as meaningful, saying it highlights the increasing potential for Salesforce to begin a multi-year, steady build penetration into the $80B US Federal Government IT budget. He keeps an Overweight rating on the stock with a $90 price target.
