As previously reported, Longbow analyst Anthony Deem downgraded Cooper Tire to Neutral from Buy, telling investors that he's seen greater than expected price and volume pressure in the U.S. tire channel, which may be a sign for more margin suppression in 2018. Deem cut his 2018 volume estimate in the Americas to down 2.5% from flat to account for weaker than expected industry shipments and more competitive pricing and also lowered his 2018 earnings estimate for Cooper by 9%.
