Stifel believes that Ctrip's (CTRP) deal with Baidu (BIDU) gives Ctrip "unprecedented industry influence." The firm expects Ctrip to press for reduced industry hotel couponing, and lower marketing and promotional spending to support industry profitability. Stifel expects Ctrip to eventually force Qunar to implement these initiatives. It keeps a Buy rating on Ctrip.
