Jefferies analyst John DiFucci raised his price target on Commvault to $76 following today's announcement of a 10.3% stake taken by Elliott Management. The analyst says this will be positively received by investors and maintains his view that the company offers a strong suite of data management across all environments, but adds that its go-to-market and sales execution have lagged. The analyst believes that these challenges can be resolved by a strategic partnership with Elliott, which DiFucci calls "an ideal match". The analyst also keeps his Buy rating on Commvault.
