Piper Jaffray analyst Peter Appert sees the "strategic appeal" of a combination with MacDonald, Dettwiler & Associates, but he believes the acquisition price for DigitalGlobe is low relative to the fundamental value of the company's franchise. The analyst feels it is possible that another bidder will emerge, but admits the probability is low. He lowered his price target for DigitalGlobe shares to $36 from $39 and keeps an Overweight rating on the name.
