Bernstein reports that some investors are worried that Brexit will trigger a recession, and have noted that the shares of Dow (DOW) and DuPont (DD) dove 845 and 64%, respectively, from February 2008 through February 2009. However, the firm says that Dow had just acquired Rohm & Haas before the recession and barely escaped bankruptcy, while the U.S. was a high cost producer of ethylene in 2008 and has subsequently become a low cost producer of the product.
