Following a report by CNBC alleging Apple (AAPL) is in late stages of developing an optical continuous blood glucose sensor, Stephens analyst Chris Cooley reiterates an Overweight rating and $95 price target on Dexom's (DXCM) shares. While the news will likely cause concern, the analyst says investors must recall any potential entrant will have to match Dexom's industry leading clinical efficacy. Given that he is not aware of any formal clinical trials underway by Apple, a pre-requisite for domestic commercialization, Cooley believes this potential threat appears more distant in nature.
