As reported earlier, Oppenheimer analyst Ben Chittenden initiated Encore Capital with an Outperform rating and a price target of $53. Chittenden says the profitability for the company, which is among the leaders in charged-off debt buyers in the country, has started to turn higher as it diversified geographically and by asset class. The analyst also points to an industry tailwind of increasing supply of potential portfolios.
