Deutsche Bank said the patent issued to Endo could help the company protect Vasostrict, one of the most important products within its generics division. Risk to Vasostrict from generics has been a key overhang for the stock even though Par Pharmaceutical, the company's generics division, has expressed confidence that it could protect the product until at least the end of 2017. This patent could provide longer protection if Endo is able to defend it against generic challengers and there could be upside to Deutsche estimates if Endo can protect Vasostrict beyond 2017, the firm said.
