Citi analyst Wendy Nicholson put Energizer (ENR) on her firm's Catalyst Watch List after the stock dropped 10% over the last six weeks. The analyst attributes the weakness to investor concerns that there has been no approval thus far from the European regulatory body with regard to the company's planned acquisition of the Spectrum Brands (SPB) battery business. Nicholson believes the shares could move "materially higher if and when" European approval is received and she notes that Energizer management has remained confident that the deal will be approved. The analyst keeps a Neutral rating on shares of Energizer.
