After a Bloomberg report, citing sources, contended that Ericsson (ERIC) may be ready to change its M&A strategy and pursue larger deals in the face of the merger of rivals Nokia (NOK) and Alcatel (ALU), Raymond James noted Juniper (JNPR) and Ciena (CIEN) are mentioned most often as Ericsson targets. The firm added that its doubts a deal for either will happen, but noted it would consider Juniper the more "likely and logical" takeover candidate for Ericsson. In late morning trading, Juniper shares rose 4%, while Ciena added 1.7%.
