JPMorgan analyst Lisa Gill believes the partnership announced this morning by Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) and UnitedHealth's OptumRx does not change anything at Express Scripts (ESRX). The deal does not preclude Walgreens from potentially acquiring a Pharmacy Benefits Manager over time to better compete with CVS Health (CVS), Gill tells investors in a research note. Walgreens already has a similar offering with Express Scripts that was announced in August 2013, the analyst points out. She views today's news as an incremental positive for Walgreens saying it could help drive incremental script volumes and foot traffic.
