BofA analyst Julien Dumoulin-Smith double upgraded Evergy to Buy from Underperform following the announcement that two independent directors to its board will come from Elliott Management. Given the formation of a strategic review and operations committee, he sees management being "correctly focused" on reviewing all of Elliott's proposals for enhancing value, said the analyst, who sees the suspension of its buyback as a positive as it redirects capital toward rate base growth.
