After the American Cancer Society updated its guideline for colorectal cancer screening to recommend screening begin at age 45 for people at average risk, Leerink analyst Puneet Souda said this is "only directionally positive" for Exact Sciences. Souda said the ACS recommendation does not automatically translate into becoming a reality in clinical practice in the near-term, nor does it mean the USPSTF and NCCN automatically follow suit. Souda maintains an Outperform rating on Exact Sciences shares, which are up 11.5% near noon.
