Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster identified five "myths" about Virtual Reality that continue to be widely held by investors who don't fully appreciate the potential of the emerging technology. Namely, he said that investors who aren't appreciating VR are misled in thinking: 1) VR is the next 3D TV, 2) VR will make you sick, 3) there won't be enough content, 4) VR isn't social, and 5) converting existing games to VR is easy. Munster, who thinks that Facebook's upcoming developers conference, Oculus Connect, in September could help address these concerns, keeps his Overweight rating and $146 price target on Facebook shares.
