Imperial Capital analyst Jeff Kessler upgraded Flir Systems to Outperform from In-Line and raised his price target for the shares to $57 from $56. After attending recent conferences, the analyst believes prospects for Flir's safe cities and other civilian projects will improve starting in 2020. Any combination of new government project wins or higher-margin areas of Industrial or Commercial could drive revenue growth close to 5% and operating margins closer to 23%-plus, Kessler tells investors in a research note. He thinks Flir can efficiently manage its business and pay down debt with free cash flows.
