After Piper Jaffray conducted a survey of over 100 video game console owners, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson says that 62% of those surveyed plan to buy a new console in the next year. He views that data point as positive for Gamestop. The analyst adds that the survey indicates that the percentage of games downloaded through FlashGameDistribution is increasing five to ten percentage points per year, in-line with his previous expectations. He keeps an Overweight rating on GameStop.
