KeyBanc analyst Edward Yruma downgraded Gap to Sector Weight from Overweight after the company replaced the head of Gap banner, Jeff Kirwan, and noted that the brand has not seen "operational excellence and accelerated profit growth." The analyst believes the move "underscores structural weakness at the brand." While he remains confident in Old Navy's ability to post solid results against difficult comparisons, Yruma now has less confidence in an operational turnaround the namesake brand in the short to medium term.
