Wedbush analyst Jen Redding initiated Gap with a Neutral rating and $32 price target, telling investors in a research note that she views Gap as a "compelling" story led by CEO Art Peck and Gap brand president and CEO Neil Fiske and a senior management team that is focused on "the right key initiatives" to drive value over the long-term. Though she notes strong comps at Athleta and Old Navy, she has less visibility into the core Gap brand in Q2, and remains on the sidelines for now absent of a positive inflection in proprietary data for the brand.

Wells Fargo analyst Ike Boruchow raised the firm's price target on Gap to $32 from $25 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. The firm remains bullish on Gap after hosting CEO Richard Dickson and CFO Katrina O'Connell for investor meetings. Wells believes the turnaround is working, Old Navy and Gap confidence are growing, and the margin story should continue to play out.
