Stifel analyst John Egbert notes that GrubHub are under pressure in reaction to a New York Post article regarding the NY State Liquor Authority potentially developing new rules governing food delivery services. Based on GrubHub's minimal revenue contributions from alcohol sales and a previous declaratory ruling from the SLA, the analyst finds it "highly unlikely" that any new rules developed by the SLA will require GrubHub to be listed on restaurants' liquor licenses. Egbert believes it is even more unlikely that the SLA's jurisdiction would be extended to govern marketing commissions on food sales. He would be a buyer on weakness in GrubHub shares, and notes the company is likely better suited to weather any form of potential fee compression on the horizon given its profitability and lower-commission marketplace business. The analyst has a Buy rating and $110 price target on the shares.
