Cowen analyst Joseph Giordano noted that California governor Jerry Brown and legislative leaders in the state have set a deadline of April 6 to pass transportation funding bill that could bring a roughly tripling of the budget increase to Caltrans, the CA DOT, which is Granite Construction's largest customer. Granite shares rallied post-election, but have since reversed back even though more than $200B in local transportation measures have been passed on the West Coast and a California bill is poised to be passed, noted Giordano, who thinks clarity in California could restore some momentum for the stock. He keeps an Outperform rating and $70 price target on Granite Construction shares.
