BMO Capital downgraded Welltower (HCN) due to what it sees as slower near-term growth and increased risks following adverse actions by Medicare against skilled nursing companies. The firm also notes that the shares of Brookdale, a major senior housing partner of Welltower, have dropped 59% over the last year amid operational weakness.
