Northcoast analyst Seth Woolf said recent checks indicate Harley-Davidson retail trends deteriorated in April despite a meaningfully easing in comps. The analyst is hearing chatter that MY17 models have started to be discounted, earlier than they did last year, and does not given him confidence in MKE-8 acceleration. The analyst is maintaining his US retail estimate of down 1.2% for now but as he believes sales are running close to that level and said there could be modest downside to his down 1.8% global estimate and 85k unit shipment forecast if trends to not improve. Woolf rates Harley-Davidson a Neutral.
