DA Davidson analyst Gary Tenner lowered his price target on Hope Bancorp to $16 and kept his Neutral rating after its Q3 earnings came in just shy of his estimate. The analyst notes that net interest margin compression has worsened, with the outlook for more softness to come over the intermediate term. Tenner adds that the bank's earnings outlook is dependent on its ability to generate incremental deposits at lower costs, and while there are initiatives to do so, he sees investor concerns regarding its funding costs and net interest margins containing the upside on the shares.
