William Blair analyst Ryan Daniels recommends buying shares of Idexx Laboratories on any weakness after the company announced that interim President and CEO Jay Mazelsky has been appointed to these positions on a fulltime basis. While the loss of Jon Ayers is significant, "one of his main strengths over the past two decades has been building a deep and impressive team of leaders around him," Daniels tells investors in a research note. The analyst has a high degree of confidence in Mazelsky's ability to continue to drive long-term value creation for shareholders. Idexx continues to benefit from a healthy end-market, strong instrument placements, continued sales team investments, and high retention of recurring consumables sales streams, says Daniels, who keeps an Outperform rating on the shares.
