As previously reported, Needham analyst Alex Henderson upgraded Infinera to Strong Buy from Buy with a $20 price target on the stock. While Infinera's stock has been slammed due to revenue weakness primarily out of Transmode combined with nervousness on the company's ability to drive growth in the Metro market, the analyst believes both concerns are misplaced. Henderson thinks the long haul coherent vendors have an advantage as coherent moves into the metro market due to the importance of having the same transmission gear in both the long-haul and the metro, which gives Infinera a big advantage in converting its existing long-haul customers.
