JPMorgan analyst Robbie Marcus recommends using the selloff Friday in shares of iRhythm as a buying opportunity. The American Medical Association released the agenda for the upcoming Current Procedural Terminology panel meeting scheduled for September 26-28, and, as expected, the codes that cover Zio XT for external electrocardiogram monitoring were included with the agenda, Marcus tells investors in a research note. The analyst sees Friday's selloff as an "inappropriate reaction," as he continues to believe that a move from a CPT 3 code to a CPT 1 code would be a positive change for iRhythm. Most importantly, says the analyst, he now believes the worst case scenario of a rate crosswalk to holter monitors is now off the table. He does not think the CPT committee would vote to advance the Zio codes if they were planning to apply an existing holter or event monitor code. Marcus believes many investors are "missing this point." He keeps an Overweight rating on iRhythm shares.
