Jefferies analyst Philip Ng says shares of Jeld-Wen (JELD) are lower on Tuesday over concerns Home Depot (HD) is discounting in interior doors, as investors are worried it could derail the interior door price increase. Based on his firm's web scrape on Monday, Ng says that while 40% of the 54 stores he tracks discounted off full list prices, 60% of them raised prices by 100%-200% and on aggregate prices are up 39% for Jeld-Wen at Home Depot. The analyst, who made no change to his Buy rating, says he sees share price weakness providing a more attractive entry point.
