Piper Jaffray analyst Neely J.N. Tamminga upgraded Nordstrom to Overweight after seeing "signs of accelerating trends" from the company's Anniversary Sale event. At the midpoint of the sale, sell-through rates are tracking well ahead of last year and four-year average with denim showing strength, Tamminga tells investors in a research note. She also highlights easier comparisons going forward. The analyst raised her price target for Nordstrom shares to $53 from $45.
