Piper Jaffray analyst Ruben Roy noted that KLA-Tencor stated during a conference presentation that its September quarter orders would likely come in at the high end of guidance, adding that it appears the strong orders were due to incremental demand and not the result of pull-ins. The order update sets the stage for a potentially stronger finish to this year and a possibly better start to next, said Roy, who keeps an Overweight rating and $63 price target KLA-Tencor shares, which are up about 4% to $51.30 in midday trading.
