As previously reported, BMO Capital analyst Amit Sharma upgraded Coca-Cola to Outperform from Market Perform. The carbonated soft drinks category is not in structural decline, contrary to widespread perception, contends Sharma, who expects Coke’s sales and EPS growth to get back to near the company's long-term targets in 2016. The analyst, who expects Coca-Cola to start seeing more bottomline benefits from its cost savings program in 2017, raised his price target on the stock to $48 from $44.
