Following Monday's presidential debate, Loop Capital analyst Rick Paterson is rethinking his reluctance to believing a potential Donald Trump presidency is a threat to Kansas City Southern's business. Trump opened the debate by attacking Kansas City Southern customer Ford Motor's (F) transplanting of auto assembly plants from the U.S. to Mexico, Paterson tells investors in a research note. KSU was the best performing rail stock and the Mexican peso was 2.5% stronger the day after Hillary Clinton's debate victory, the analyst points out. He views Mexico as a "key growth engine" for both KSU and Union Pacific (UNP). Paterson cites a CNN poll for Clinton's debate victory. The analyst has a Buy rating on KSU with a $115 price target.
