FBR Capital analyst Susan Anderson says her firm's survey of female U.S. residents indicated that athletic wear still resonates with consumers, but that consumers are beginning to slow purchases after stocking up the last few years. It appears consumers are becoming more price sensitive with the influx of competition and lower-priced options, Anderson tells investors in a research note. lululemon (LULU) ranked very low in brand preference behind Nike (NKE), Under Armour (UA) and others, the analyst points out, citing the survey. She believes the results could indicate lululemon's "market potential has tapped out in women's." Anderson reiterates an Underperform rating on lululemon with a $40 price target. The retailer closed yesterday down 34c to $65.20.
