The major catalyst for both the economy and the Software sector will be the outcome on China trade negotiations, analysts Sterling Auty and Ader tells investors in a research note. Their approach for 2020 is a "balanced attack on secular high-growth and more valuation-attractive names." Ader cites valuation and macro uncertainty for his two downgrades. Their top picks for 2020: RingCentral (RNG), Avalara (AVLR), Zoom Video (ZM), Akamai (AKAM), and FireEye (FEYE).
