After Bernstein conducted channel checks in Macau January 1-8, analyst Vitaly Umansky says that the region's average daily gross gaming revenue is up 31% over December and 17% over January 2016 levels. The analyst adds that GGR from VIP was "particularly strong in both volume and hold," and was "strong..across the board." He slightly raised his January GGR estimates for Macau and keeps a $21.50 price target and Outperform rating on Melco Crown (MPEL). Other Macau casino owners include Wynn Resorts (WYNN), Las Vegas Sands (LVS), and MGM Resorts (MGM).
