Stephens noted that common stockholders are getting diluted by MRC Global's deal to issue $363M in convertible preferred stock, but that the investment puts the company back in a position to pursue acquisitions and should be judged by what MRC is able to buy with the proceeds. The firm lowered its price target on MRC shares to $22 from $24 but maintains its Overweight rating and said it hopes to see MRC do an accretive deal soon.
