Credit Suisse analyst Michael Nemeroff notes that both IDC and Gartner (IT) reported preliminary PC shipment data that called out strength in the commercial market. The analyst points out that IDC highlighted that PC shipments outperformed in Q1, while Gartner noted that Q1 commercial PC shipments were strong, largely driven by Windows 10 migrations that were previously postponed during 2017. Nemeroff believes these data are supportive of his bullish thesis on Microsoft (MSFT) shares, as there is a high correlation to enterprises upgrading their productivity suite platform when upgrading their OS environments, or replacing PCs. The analyst reiterates an Outperform rating and $115 price target on Microsoft shares.
