Credit Suisse analyst Michael Nemeroff notes that the important growth drivers at Microsoft all "outperformed handily" in Q3. The analyst reiterates an Outperform rating and $80 price target on the shares, citing his expectations for significant earnings power over the next few years, at least, due to strong commercial cloud growth and higher cloud gross margins driven by a healthy mix of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS with a higher attach of premium services and increased economies of scale.

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer told Polygon in an interview during the annual Game Developers Conference that he doesn't just want Xbox games on other consoles, but also wants other game retailers, such as Itch.io and the Epic Games Store on Xbox platforms as well. "Consider our history as the Windows company," Spencer said. "Nobody would blink twice if I said, 'Hey, when you're using a PC, you get to decide the type of experience you have...
