Leerink analyst Paul Matteis says the announcement that CFO Tim Coughlin is leaving Neurocrine was a "big surprise," but does not reflect negatively on the core fundamentals of the business. The analyst believes the departure appears "legitimately non-business related," given that Coughlin will stay on as a Neurocrine employee in a finance/ops role through 2017, will be with CEO Kevin Gorman at investor meetings in early January, and will remain a "longtime shareholder" of the company. He reiterates an Outperform rating on the shares.
