While Norfolk Southern hosts its "long anticipated" investor day meeting, Loop Capital analyst Rick Paterson said that so far he has been pleased with what the company has communicated in the morning session regarding both the extent to which the company will embrace Precision Scheduled Railroading and how aggressive it will be with its operating ratio targets. The analyst, who said in an intraday research note while the event is ongoing that his bottom line view at this point is "so far, so good," noted that the company is targeting an "impressive" 7% improvement in OR over the next three years. Paterson keeps a Buy rating on Norfolk Southern shares.
