NMBL, EMC, NTAP

Summit Research analyst Srini Nandury says executive departures continue to take its toll on NetApp (NTAP) after The Register reported that CFO Jay Kidd is retiring. The company's challenges "will only progressively get worse," the analyst believes. Nandury says in a note to investors that NetApp needs to take some "bold actions" and throw out its old playbook. The analyst recommends the company go the way of EMC (EMC) and acquire its "way to relevance." Nimble Storage (NMBL), Tegile and Tintri are available, Nandury says. If an acquisition is not palatable, NetApp should sell itself, Nandury argues. The analyst keeps a Buy rating on the stock with a $45 price target.
