After Kraft Heinz (KHC) and Oprah Winfrey announced a joint culinary venture called Mealtime Stories that seeks to create a new line of nutritious refrigerated foods, Craig-Hallum analyst Alex Fuhrman notes that he does not think the new venture is a "meaningful threat" to Nutrisystem's (NTRI) business, and continues to believe the latter is off to "a strong diet season." The analyst believes Nutrisystem's offerings are very different from those of Weight Watchers (WTW) or Oprah's joint venture with Kraft, adding that he thinks the selloff in Nutrisystem's shares was "a big overreaction." He reiterates a Buy rating and $40 price target on Nutrisystem's stock.
